Liberty’s Turnovers Prove Costly In Game 2 Loss To Dream

ATLANTA, Georgia ( NYCJ ) — The New York Liberty fell to the Atlanta Dream in Game 2 despite an efficient shooting performance, losing the matchup after shooting 55% from the field. New York finished 35-of-64 from the floor and connected on 12-of-25 attempts from three-point range (48%). The Liberty also held a 36-35 rebounding advantage and recorded 23 assists. However, turnovers proved costly. The Liberty committed 17 turnovers compared with Atlanta’s nine, leading to a massive 28-10 advantage for the Dream in points off turnovers. Atlanta also controlled the offensive glass, pulling down 11 offensive rebounds to New York’s five. The Liberty did have advantages in several statistical categories, including blocks (7-2), defensive rebounds (31-24) and points in the paint (44-42).
