New York Law Firm Examines DUI Enforcement Gaps Across The United States
NEW YORK CITY, New York (NYCJ) — A New York law firm is examining how DUI crashes and arrests compare across the United States, with its new 50-state analysis highlighting significant differences in enforcement patterns from state to state.
The analysis by Grigor Law Injury and Car Accident Lawyers compares average annual DUI crashes, arrests and population-based rates across all 50 states.
The study found Texas ranked 10th for the widest crash-to-arrest gap, with an average of 807 DUI crashes and more than 61,000 arrests annually. Florida ranked third, while Louisiana ranked second.
New York is part of the broader national comparison, although the information provided with the study does not identify a New York City-specific ranking or provide separate figures for New York City.
The analysis illustrates the wide variation in DUI enforcement across the country. South Dakota recorded the largest crash-to-arrest ratio in the study, while Delaware recorded the smallest.
The findings come as DUI enforcement remains a significant issue for drivers, law enforcement agencies and attorneys handling impaired-driving and crash cases.
The study compares statistical patterns and does not by itself establish why enforcement levels differ among states or individual jurisdictions.
